| Contest Information We start taking entries when the show starts at ___ pm. When we start the contest at ____ pm, we crumple the entries up so that no one can arrive late and add their entry. We draw them at random until _____pm, during which time the three judges grade you on vocal quality, stage presence, and audience reaction on a 1 - 10 scale. The Rules are: · No employees of the hosting bar or Band In A Box are eligible. · Singers may use my library or bring a song of their own...no discs with a lead singer allowed. · No professional singers please. (Not working in a band; not a paid singer or entertainer; Amateurs ONLY please.) · You may use any props or costumes that compliment your performance. · Singers are allowed the chance to have a sound check of their song before being judged; this is limited to 30-45 seconds. · Songs over 6 minutes may be cut short in order to prevent monopolizing time during the competition. · You must be present when called for your chance to compete. If you leave the bar and miss your name, being called you will NOT be allowed to sing later. · You must be present to win the evenings prizes. If a contestant is not available to accept their prize it will go to the contestant with the next highest score. · In the event of a tie, the non-placing contestants will be asked to pick the winner by secret ballot vote on a second performance of the tied contestants. Further ties will be subject to the devious mind of the host. · One winner from each weeks contest will compete against each other the ninth week, in elimination finals.
